The Ottawa Citizen and its employees are honoured and privileged to sponsor the Tour Nortel Ottawa Citizen Corporate Challenge. This initiative is a superb way for corporate leaders to continue to demonstrate their commitment to community stewardship and responsibility.
With your support, the Tour Nortel Ottawa Citizen Corporate Challenge has raised more than $1.3 million for CHEO and its health care partners over the past nine years. Each year, the generosity displayed by community partners through their corporate philanthropy has provided the critical support necessary for CHEO's staff to help hundreds of children and their families battle cancer. And the battle continues.
I invite you to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the Tour Nortel Ottawa Citizen Corporate Challenge by accepting the challenge to improve the quality of life in our community.
By signing up today there are many prizes your team can win, but our kids and community are the real winners.

2008 is the tenth annual Ottawa Citizen Tour Nortel Corporate Challenge. Commemorating this special event and continuing a tradition of excellence, the Ottawa Citizen awards a Corporate Challenge Trophy, created by Davis Awards.
Featuring cut crystal set on a slate base, this unique, custom-designed trophy is awarded to the Corporate Challenge team raising the most pledge money in total. A powerful, yet elegant symbol of community spirit and corporate pride, the trophy graces the winner’s workplace for one year.
Davis Awards are created by Davis Wood Products of Cantley, Quebec. Incorporating environmentally friendly methods of manufacture and design, Davis Awards are also produced in partnership with mentally, physically and socially challenged individuals.
Demonstrating excellence. Showing social and community responsibility. Forging the future while recognizing the past. That’s what the Ottawa Citizen’s Tour Nortel Corporate Challenge trophy is all about.

Tips for Top Fundraising Success
• Start early.
• Begin with the people you know will offer a donation. This will ensure success on your first day of fundraising and will boost your confidence for the more difficult asks.
• Ask everyone—no pledge is too small and every little bit helps.
• Smile when you ask for a donation.
• Always reciprocate. If you bought chocolates to support a friend’s child’s school program, they can sponsor you!
• Ask for an increase over their previous donation.
• Take your pledge materials everywhere you go. You never know who you will meet.
• If you’ve registered online, e-mail everyone in your address book requesting a donation.
• Always thank people for their pledge and inform them as to how their donation helps.
